When we are about to create a new product with infrared technology the questions to respond to identificate the right product are essencially the following:

Am I developing a product that requires the use of a fixed-focus infrared sensor or am I developing a product that requires a variable infrared focus sensor?

To answer this question you should consider different factors: the fixed focus sensor has no possibility to vary the activation distance while the variable focus sensor can be activated from 1 cm up to 80 cm. In regardless of the activation distance that is factory set, the distance of our variable focus products can be later modified through manual steps made in front of the sensor and without the help of any instruments. This means that buying a variable focus sensor is recommended when you want to deal with just one product in your stock, serving different needs of development and final sale (taps with long spout, flush with long spout faucets, urinals, public showers etc).

The variable focus sensor is inherently slightly more sensitive to reflections while the fixed focus virtually is not affected. We recommend the fixed focus in all situations where the activation distance is close to 12 cm from sensor, dedicating a specific technology with a single development.

We recommend variable sensor focus for all those products that require activation distance configurable up to 80 cm, for urinals (pre rinsing function can be activated by the user), or with one product in stock to meet all your needs.

If I choose a variable focus infrared sensor, and I develop many products using one only sensor and modifying the activation distance in my own production line, am I sure that the final user will not be able later on to change again the parameters and putting me in difficulties in the after sales?
LONG RANGE variable focus infrared products contain an unblock and programmino key that will be only given to the customer which is the faucets producer and not to the final user.
The final user will not know the entrance code to the programming area and will be not possible for him to perform any parameter change with the positive consequence that you will not be disturbed in the after sales. Also at batteries change the system will keep the parameters previously set so there is no worry about.

Do I want to develop a single water product, a product with pre-mixed water or a product with mixing unit?
For each product STSR has a suitable solution, our aim in to avoid to make you waste money, resources or components.

Do I wish that the solenoid valve is integrated and/or inside the faucet or external to the product?
The integrated solenoid valve and/or inside the product makes it less sensitive to vandalism and faster installable.
The external solenoid valve is instead the appropriate choice considering possible manteinance or replacement over time as a spare part.

Do I need very low energy consumption for the solenoid valve?
If you have special requirements of low consumption we recommend specific items with solenoid valve of extremely small size, which can be jacketed in a brass body and used as external valve (either single tap or pre-mixed) or can be used, without the need of being jacketed, directly inside the final product (for example in wall-mounted washbasins).

Do I have special requirements regarding connectors?
If you have them, you can ask to STSR your custom product (minimum volumes to be agreed).

The product must work with external power supply and back-up batteries when the power line is missing?

What is the timing that my product will need?
Standard timings of our items are created in order to meet the maximum requirements of the product, in case of different needs you can ask to STSR your custom product (minimum volumes to be agreed).
